Applications are now open for the Pivot Research-in-Action Award. Applications close 10 September 2026. The Pivot Award is a joint initiative between the Bashford-Nicholls Trust of Taranaki and Massey University Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa.
The award supports the application of research or research translation initiatives to help Taranaki communities flourish. It supports projects in the general areas of agriculture, horticulture and veterinary practice.
Projects are carried out jointly between Massey University and representatives of Taranaki communities, organisations, primary industries or businesses.
This is an opportunity for Taranaki-based organisations or individuals to work alongside Massey University researchers to put research outcomes to use in practical and impactful ways for the benefit of Taranaki.
There is a total of three projects that can be supported by the Pivot Award, and each project can be awarded up to $35,000. Projects are co-led by a Massey University researcher and a representative of the Taranaki partner(s).
Do you have a great idea, or aware of an information gap or need? This could be the opportunity to work with Massey University staff to apply research in innovative and practical ways for the benefit of the region.
