The Mentoring Foundation

About This Project

BAF continues to support the Mentoring Foundation of NZ as it engages with regional communities across Aotearoa.  The Mentoring Foundation is strengthening the community and Not for Profit sector by implementing leadership mentoring programmes in partnership with regional organisations.  The initiative is backed by The Tindall Foundation and is delivering programmes to over 150 people in 2022.

In 2021 the Mentoring Foundation partnered with Te Atiawa to deliver an Iwi based leadership programme, the outcomes from this partnership have been inspiring.

The Mentoring Foundation has also entered into a partnership with Community Governance, a Foundation North initiative, that is focused on the development of governance in our communities.  The partnership will deliver 8 governance mentoring programmes in 2022.  This includes Māori and Pasifika programmes that are co-designed to reflect the stories, values and history of governance for each culture.

The Mentoring Foundation continues to explore opportunities to expand the programme into areas such as sport and recreation, ethnic communities and the disability sector, while still increasing the number of regions offering the programme.  The Mentoring Foundation recently announced the recruitment of Michelle Jordan as the new Executive Director.
